As a disciplined law enforcement force Bangladesh Police has tremendous and highly appreciable contribution in our liberation war , anti-terrorism activities, law and order management, natural disaster and many more national crisis . Compared to our population, the number of police is not satisfactory, though govt. is trying to increase the number of police. However,one thing is true enough that having limitations of our resources and modern arms, equipment etc. what Bangladesh police has been doing is well enough. Some people may argue that the corruption and partial view , political tadbir have made Bangladesh Police controversial . But i think and believe with the development of monitoring and proper departmental actions against some corrupted members of police , now a day there is no image crisis in this disciplined force .
Moreover, it can be admitted that no one of Bangladesh police wants to be involved in illegal means of earning and corruption unless and until they are made bound to comply with the orders and threats of political leaders and other influential persons having good positions in the society. One thing i should mention here that there are many examples we have gone through in different media and news papers likewise: police officers /constables due to honesty and disagreement with the political influence had to suffer a lot including punishment transfer etc.
But in fact, it is too much terrible to continue professional duties when politicians interupts. Anyway, if we go for such argument it will produce lots of debates. Let’s have a look at Bangladesh Police for now what they are doing for us. Almost citizens of Bangladesh including me are very much proud to see the services of Bangladesh police during Corona Pandemic. Well done Bangladesh police. The nation will remember you forever. You snatched the love from the core of every hearts of this countrymen. Everywhere in the country people are applauding you .
Admiration does not come by force. It comes automatically from being satisfied . Normally people would throw stigma towards police in our country for various reasons. But currently, the situation has radically changed . People have been fond of police. Question may come how and why police became too dear to the countrymen. Reasons are many to be unfolded. We know in the Corona Pandemic throughout the world everything has been motionless and static. We Bangladeshi people are not out of that strike and snap. By the order of the govt. the whole country is locked down in order to resist community transmission of corona virus. In fact, people went back to home and some of them try to roam here and there which increases the chances of virus transmission.
However, in country wide locked down police have been playing heroic role to serve the countrymen irrespective to their duty or not. To make sure of law and order under control up to taking the dead body from hospital to graveyard , police are engaged in. Nowhere in the country ,any news of dissatisfaction of the services of the police is found. What do not police do? Police are on road to check people and push them back to home except emergency.
Police have to control law and order situation of the country. They are also working to find out the people fleeing away coming from corona-prone countries. Police are reaching at door to door with food and essential commodities /medicines. They are donating from their personal funds to distressed people.
Mostly, people do not dare to take the corona patients to hospitals ;but police rush there instantly and take the patients to hospitals by their efforts. not only this, when the dead bodies are left at the hospital bed , no one or relatives come forward to take them for burying; police had to do such activities too. Where do police are absent in corona pandemic? Nowhere. Everywhere they are vigilant to perform duties of the countrymen. At present, it can be said that the way police are working for us is not only for their job but also a part performance of the social responsibility to the people of this land. Personally, i want to see Bangladesh police to stick to gun with the present love and respect of the people by dint of their works and sincerity.
Whatever the past does not require to carry with future , the only thing i believe police should keep doing good deeds having honesty round the year .
No telling to say that Bangladesh police has already proved that if no political pressure and interference is upon them, then they can perform their duties having utmost honesty and dedication. I hope Bangladesh police will carry the day to be able to bag the fruits of admiration from every knock and corners of the country and world. In fact, to write on this issue , i had to keep aside many noticeable contributions of Bangladesh police to keep the write -up short and precise.
Besides, life of a police is within a framework of duty . We sleep over night. police patrols the cities. We go to Eid-gah for Eid salat but they still on the road or police station or any other places for our security. Whenever police any emergency or henius crime occurs, police have no way to say i am sleeping or taking rest or they can not say i have just come to attend a family function. There is no particular time schedule for police duty in case of emergency. However, they are human being. They have love and affection too.
Despite that, police do sacrifice their quality time of family life as well. Sorrowful matter is that traffic police even can not take their iftar with their family at Ramadan for ensuring the smooth ways for others to go home to take iftar with their families. Like this, thousands of examples of their dedication to profession may be brought to light . Over all, we want police to be treated as the best disciplined force . Side by side, we citizens also have responsibility to come forward to bring to light the good and honest works of the police so that others can be inspired to do the same.
We hope with the reformation of Bangladesh police, we will have our dearest patriotic force as Bangladesh police fo whom our country will earn reputation in the world too.
At the bottom line, i recap one thing that well done Bangladesh police . You had better keep doing such noble and praiseworthy deeds for the betterment of the country and the countrymen to take eternal place in the heart of the people of Bangladesh.
